About the Principal

In 1992, Mrs. Edris Carr moved to Mesquite, Texas from Tampa, Florida where she helped found one of the more prestigious private schools in FloridaBayshore Christian School.  This school not only excelled in academics, they also had state championship athletics and all the extras that make a child’s school year special and exciting.

She moved with the goal of doing the same thing here in Texas that was accomplished in Florida.

Since it’s beginning in 1992 with 12 students, Grace Fellowship Christian School has made great strides with Mrs. Carr’s dedication and leadership.

Mrs. Carr has been an educator for over thirty years, having taught every grade at least once.   She has been a teacher, a dean, an assistant principal, and principal in her years of public service, with elementary education being her specialty.

Philosophy

We believe that education should create a whole person, prepared for the future and confident to meet it.  To this end, we attempt to provide for our students’ social, physical, and spiritual growth as well as their academic development.  Quality education with Christ as its center is our only reason for existence.  It is our goal that “The man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works,” (2 Timothy 3:27) and to this end we are dedicated.

Our fundamental spiritual basis is the belief that the Bible is the Holy Spirit inspired, infallible Word of God.  Students study the Bible to learn its content and discover how it applies to their lives.

We do not seek to impose any particular system of doctrine, although there is an evangelistic concern: that each student might come to know the Lord Jesus Christ in a personal way as Savior and Master, and might grow in faith and spiritual maturity.
